    • "Veeprijzen zeer duur. Kerst Bonnes Hylkema van Akkrum in twee dagen hier Oost en Noord ons [Lieuwe Jans de Jong] Dorp gekocht ruim 60 stuks, in tijds kalf (Februarius, Maart, April, Mei en later), vaaren, vroeg melken, oud en jong zelfs gelijk van ons, enterstieren."
    • "Koeijen blijven staan, door de winter en het ijs, dat nog sterk in zee drijft, zoo men zegt. Den 27sten zoude men inschepen naar Holland, is weder opgezegd. Doch de 29sten zijn twee kooplieden besloten tot beproeving en hebben ingescheept te Akkrum, Kerst Bonnes Hylkeme, zeker ruim 100 stuks, en Klaas Johannes Bottema. Was reis zal het worden? Mogelijk de Noordzee om!!"
    • "Afgeleverd 4 koeijen, den 9den Januarius verkocht aan Kerst Bonnes Hylkema voor 500 guldens. Met een stier voor 70 guldens. Moesten alle 5 afgeleverd worden in Februarius. En door de winter vertraagd. Ofschoon veel gekost, vroeg gekalfd, konden we de kost en voeder wel opbrengen. Waren zeer ten genoegen van den koopman. Zonder een enkeld woord ten volle betaald, ofschoon de eene een gebrek aan de uijers had gekregen, zijnde bryk of wankant. Zij waren naar andered inkopen toen niet duur, doch geen 4 koeijen verkocht voor zoo een hogen prijs, nooit gebeurd."
