    • the only Jan Lieuwes who died before 1816 in Leeuwarderadeel was Jan Lieuwes Kassie! (named Jan Lieuwes Kas in Jelsum in 1811. This Jan Lieuwes died on 22 Apr 1812 in Jelsum, widower of Namke Piers. They were married in Steins on 26 Aug 1781 (attestatie!), he being from Sint Jacobiparochie and she from Stiens. They had one child Pier b. 18 Apr 1782, bap. Stiens 2 Jun 1782. Could this be our Jan Lieuwes?? Not likely, since when he died in 1812, the only wife mentioned was Namke Piers!
    • not certain if Geertje was married to this Jan Lieuwes, but likely since the only child mentioned is Saakje, the name of his mother, although I'm assuming the Douwe and Jan were brothers. Douwe's parents are given in his death record, but I could not find baptism records for either Jan or Douwe!! So lots of unknowns here!
